The latest set from the Plastik is called the Valin Fantasy Kini, which of course called for a beachy setting yet again. However, the set also has a bit of a eastern fantasy vibe, so I decided to setup a little Arabian Nights-inspired shelter made from a few different Paper Moon releases to give it the right surroundings. I quite like how it turned out, I need to experiment further with using the fabric fences and market stalls for another photo idea I have.
This post also features a new hair from Wasabi (from the Epiphany, just like the set from the Plastik) and more poses from La vie en pose.
We’re in the middle of packing for our annual trip up north but of course I need a creative break now and then. I though the new fantasy armour set from the Plastik for the Lootbox gacha was very nice and given the horns that are a part of it I decided that it probably belongs to a guardian of some underworld realm. So, I headed off to my trusty caves by Fanatik and made use of the Petra chamber once again.
The Crystal Heart festival is opening June 30th and two of the creators offering magical creations for it are the Plastik and Voluptas Virtualis. I thought their releases combined very well with each other—the set from Voluptas Virtualis is a revealing Sword & Sorcery outfit which the huge accessory sets in light & dark from the Plastik blended quite naturally with. As luck would have it, #hashbang! has a gacha of backdrops out with light and dark versions of each style which ended up being just right for showing both versions of the Plastik release. Finally, I am also wearing a new hair from Wasabi, out now at Uber. As all of their recent styles, Juniper comes with a few style options. Here I went with the windswept pony tail to go with the flying poses.
In the evening, when the worst heat has faded, the market comes to life.
The scene came about as I wanted to showcase the pretty market stalls from Paper Moon for We Love Role-Play. Then, as so often is the case, it drew a little inspiration from A Song of Ice and Fire, again using the Dany hair from Wasabi together with a dress from lassitude & ennui which was available at Enchantment’s Iron Throne round. To that I added new jewellery from the Plastik from Collabor88 and I picked up a beautiful new coat applier for my Teeglepets to let them have a cameo as well.
Would cherry trees grow high up in the mountains and could there be a gorgeous pool like this in such a spot? I have no idea, but I love the way this looks together. The cherry tree from Organica is actually animesh and looks beautiful in motion. The big lagoon/pool from Fanatik comes with a large set of single (sits, sunbathing and bathing) and couple poses, including adult ones, and it has three different areas that you can sit in. The pool comes in a summer and a winter version.
The bikini I am wearing is from the Plastik, a mainstore release first released for Fifty Linden Friday but now out at a regular price. The set includes two patterns and fits Belleza Freya and Isis, Maitreya Lara and both Slink bodies. Also included are a pair of earrings which are not worn here.
I have so much more to show from the Fantasy Faire, but I can’t (completely) neglect everything else while it goes on. For example, this little lingerie number from Voluptas Virtualis was really begging to be shown off together with these new heels from lassitude & ennui. However, I did add a touch of fantasy in the shape of a new jewellery set by the Plastik which is available at the Fantasy Faire.
It is finally that time of the year when you can visit the Fairelands once more and as usual you can find all the information you need about the Faire at the excellent website. In short, the Faire will run between April 18 and May 5 and it is a charity event that benefits the American Cancer Society. There are over 200 merchants across 10 fantastic sims and in addition to that there are wonderful sims for the LitFest, the parties, the quest and many other things.
Time for another look at some of the great items available at the Ice and Fire event, which is open until the 13th of April. Today, I have some brands that I have not blogged before, like Bee Designs, Simply Shelby and *SK*, as well as F&M Oblivion and the Plastik (though the latter is not from that event). For these scene, I setup a bedroom in one of my castles, with an opulent bed and a large, sturdy chest.
Winter may largely be over (except on TV, of course, where it should be alive and well for roughly the next six weeks once Game of Thrones starts), but getting cosy in front of an open fire on a chilly spring evening is not bad either. And a big old castle can certainly get a bit drafty! That’s when some nice furs to curl up on are particularly nice. And if you have some company to help keep you warm, even better.
A new event from the Fantasy Collective has hit the grid. Days of Yore: An Age Undreamed Of takes its inspiration from history and lets imagination run wild from there. Several of my favourite creators have made amazing outfits for it that I plan to show you over the next few days, provided that RL co-operates. I am going to start off with a very elaborate and fantastical set from the Plastik which channels a good dose of Xena. So of course I needed one of my new Teeglepets to play at being a warhorse. A very obedient warhorse, needing no bridle or saddle.
When Fanatik came out with their river set, I wished for a waterfall in my post about it. I don’t know if that had anything to do with it, but a week or so ago they released a matching waterfall. Naturally, I had to pick it up, though it took me a while to get around to featuring it in a post. But when I wanted to do a dreamy forest scene to feature Faida’s and Velvet Whip’s collaboration for Enchantment, the waterfall turned out to be the perfect backdrop when set at the edge of the forest from Studio Skye. I am also teasing another of the new Adam n Eve skins that will be out at Skin Fair 2019 and the gorgeous hair is by Wasabi.
I’m finding myself rather spoilt for choice when it comes to blogging right now. Almost a little overwhelmed, even. I try not to pack too many things into any one post, but I couldn’t resist going all out on the accessories for this image since the pieces from the Plastik and Voluptas Virtualis fit so well together with them both using the heart motif and being rather naughty at the same time. The title of the post comes from the lounger, however, a new piece by Roawenwood. And that is not all of it, so dive in to see the rest.
We are almost through the first week of February already (I am trying not to think too hard about that, but I am definitely feeling like I am not up to speed yet) and the current round of the Epiphany ends on the 12th, so make sure to check it out if you haven’t already. One of the gachas you will find there is the Fraia Ice Queen set from the Plastik. I have done a lot of wintry images this year, so I wanted to do something a little different in terms of the colours used. The idea “black ice” came to my mind and I went with a very dark palette for the whole set and a fairly dark sky setting as well. I am happier with the lighting in the second shot, I think, and I like how the wings look against the ice.
I admit, I am running a little low on ideas for wintry setups, even though I am by no means out of the mood for it. And that is just as well, as it looks like we’re in for a colder period for the rest of January.
In the end, I decided on something a little more artistic for these shots, using a windlight setting with quite a bit of haze. I think it captures a certain feeling of chill which suits the pieces I am showing off; a snowflake version of the Maxwelle chaise from the Plastik, icicle earrings (also from the Plastik) and the Donna lingerie set from Voluptas Virtualis in a silvery metallic texture. The hair from Wasabi from the new Salon 52 event is perhaps not very wintry in itself, but it has a sleekness to it that goes well with the rest of the imagery.
For the first post of 2019, I turned to the Plastik’s new gacha for the Lootbox event. It is a massive set, but there are also plenty of different ways to wear it, with just a selection of the pieces. Other than wearing the skin which is part of one of the Lootboxes, I opted for a less fantastical look here, foregoing the tail, the pointed ears and the horns (which come in a spectacular range of options). I couldn’t resist the fantastic crown, however, and I went for the full clothing set of dress, the add-on belt & “cape” gloves and of course the high boots. And, of course, a few of the many jewellery options. Everything comes with a HUD with a large range of texture options, so this is just one of many possible looks. To get a sense of the full range of pieces included in the gacha, make sure to check out the post on the Plastik’s blog.
